“Between its two theaters, this converted Art Deco factory hosts more than 500 music performances annually. Do the math, and it means there’s a show or two to catch almost every day of the year. But World Café Live isn’t the rock venue you threw down at in high school, nor is it a classic music hall: It’s squarely in the hard-to-find in-between space, offering a grown-up concert experience that’s never stuffy. Free tickets are available for the noon shows every Friday, which are broadcast on the in-house public radio station WXPN; just make sure to reserve your seat the week before. Don’t bother grabbing a meal beforehand, either: There’s a solid cafe and bar in-house, so you can get yourself a bite during a show.”
