Big news! The HBO Documentary Stand Up & Shout: Songs From a Philly High School has been nominated for four Children’s & Family Emmy Awards!
The film follows the creation of GROWING UP BLACK, the sixth student album from Hill-Freedman Records co-produced by World Cafe Live, and serves as a testament to what we’ve been saying for years: music is a powerful tool for expression and connection.
Special thanks to WCL teaching artists Andrew Lipke, Kristal Oliver, and Bethlehem Roberson for their endless dedication, to Hill-Freedman Music Technology teacher Ezechial Thurman and Principal Anthony Majewski for their years of partnership, and to WCL board member David Bradley for his visionary leadership.
