Friday, December 26 WCL presents the Sun Ra Arkestra under the direction of Maestro Marshall Allen performing a HOLIDAY JAM like no other. Celebrating Christmas, Kwanza and the universe at large.

The Arkestra are returning to their hometown after performing their first ever shows in China and Mexico. 2025 was a busy year for the Arkestra. They also performed at the Montreal Jazz Fest, toured Australia, toured Europe and the West Coast. They also celebrated Sun Ra’s arrival on Sun Ra Day in Birmingham and Marshall Allen’s life in music at the Kennedy Center.

HOLIDAY JAM promises to be a holiday for soul dancing when The Sun Ra Arkestra brings the gifts of big band swing, outer-space jazz, dancing, singing and Afro-pageantry to WCL on December 26.

  • This is a ticketed event. Everyone must have a ticket for entry.

  • Mezzanine ticket holders are seated on the balcony overlooking the main stage, with access to a private bar, restrooms, and dining area where you can order from The Lounge menu.
