Austin-born, NYC-based musician, Ricky Stein, writes songs that seek spiritual common ground between the mesas of West Texas and the cobblestones of South Brooklyn. Recent singles "Passenger," "Sight for Sore Eyes," and "Killer Waves" depict city life in the modern era; set mainstays "Back Home in Texas" and "The Tex-Mex Song" belie his southern roots with good-natured humor. The Austin American Statesman described Stein's debut album Crazy Days as resting "in the valley between Doug Sahm and Townes Van Zandt" while the Austin Chronicle described follow-up Long Summer as "among the best country sounds to come out of Austin this year." All songs are delivered with Stein's earnest baritone, accompanied by acoustic guitar, harmonica, and an affable stage presence.
Lauren Mendelsohn is a singer-songwriter from the Philadelphia area performing original folk-rock music with her 5 piece band (Jack Mendelsohn on guitar, Ed McNellis on guitar/keys, Travis Stewart on bass, and John Fisher on drums). Laurenʼs lyrics focus on the ups and downs of a young adult life, drawing inspiration from 60s folk artists like Bob Dylan and Neil Young, along with modern country influences like Gillian Welch and Colter Wall. Lauren is currently signed to Winding Way Records and has been recording and releasing original tracks for the last 2 years while performing with her band at venues around the tristate area.
Pianta is an indie rock band from Philadelphia, PA, known for their energetic fusion of garage rock, bossa nova, and punk. With a genre-blending approach, they craft a dynamic sound that highlights elements of each style, delivering music that is both raw and rhythmic.
