In 1978, Orlando Haddad and Patricia King founded Minas at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Their passion for music propelled them across the eastern United States, where they captivated audiences before embracing the vibrant essence of Brazilian culture through their relocation to Brazil. After returning to the U.S. in 1984, they settled in the Philadelphia area, balancing family life with their artistic pursuits, all the while performing and recording extensively. Their dedication has solidified their reputation as one of the most sought-after Brazilian groups in the USA, renowned for their versatility as composers, vocalists, and instrumentalists. Minas' ability to seamlessly blend Brazilian music with jazz, folk, and classical genres has allowed them to captivate diverse audiences in various venues, showcasing their multi-faceted talents and leaving an indelible mark on the local music scene.
