Catbite at The Lawn at uCity Square

The University City Summer Series presented by University City District and World Cafe Live is bringing a FREE concert with Catbite, Philly’s own neo two-step ska band to The Lawn at uCity Square (37th and Cuthbert) on Thursday, August 21st!

Catbite is a ska band from Philadelphia formed in May of 2018. Influenced by the jolting energy of the Specials, the Selector’s edged lyrics, and Elvis Costello‘s love of melody, the group cranks out short, catchy tunes that usually have a deeper meaning… and sometimes don’t. The band’s debut self-titled LP was released in 2019 on Bad Time Records and has sold out of several pressings. The highly anticipated Sophomore album, “Nice One,” also on Bad Time Records, was released on August 6, 2021 and was accompanied with a sold-out hometown show. Nice One includes hits like “Call Your Bluff,” “Excuse Me Miss,” and the soulful rocksteady tune, “Bad Influence.” You can catch them on tour across North America.

About Two Locals: Richard and Mengistu Koiler made history when they opened Two Locals Brewing Company, the first Black-owned brewery in Philadelphia, in January of 2024 at 3675 Market Street within uCity Square.
